Just a thought…

There is an extreme epidemic in America in the area of negligence to the basic needs for the human being. During these holidays and commercialized shopping days such as “black friday” we spend millions of dollars for gifts for one another; in unrelated news every winter shelters are filled to capacity right here in Philadelphia and people sleep in the subways, parks, and alleys. Around our world the very water that we take for granted, 1 billion people don’t even have access to a clean drinking supply of it. Clean in terms of water that won’t kill them or fill their infants with parasites. The American Dream depletes our worlds resources and diminishes all notions of equality and while allowing our dream to harvest our greed at the expense of others that we’ll never see overseas.

So imagine if Jesus would have stayed on His primary mission to save only His people — the Jews. Imagine if all that He had to offer as 100% man and 100% God was only exclusively provided to those He came to seek and save, those who even still rejected Him. Can you imagine that encounter with the woman at the well (John 4:1-26), that if He never gave her a taste of the living water where she would never thirst again she would forever be in search. The Gentiles were afforded an opportunity to be on the same playing field as God’s chosen (Israelites) people where we now have the right to LIVE like everyone else. So I leave you with this thought….I know you cannot help the fact that you live in America and that you are showered with these many blessings, but as a Christian will you overlook, pass by, or turn your head to the needs of those who are not as fortunate? If you can’t say yes willingly in fears of looking a certain way but your actions suggest it, then you are guilty all the same. Think a lot about what impact your love and selflessness can have on someone else. It only takes one person to start a LOVE REVOLUTION!
